My 2020 Vision

My 2020 Vision is to make skincare less confusing, share info about product ingredients, what to use, why to use it, help introduce the New Avon products & share the Avon experience with those who would like to join me in this adventure.

I keep hearing about different ingredients that are good to use on your skin & ingredients to avoid and it all becomes so confusing. If I’m asking what this is all about then I know others are asking too. My goal is to keep this information simplified without all the scientific jargon. Let’s explore this together.

Skincare Buzz Words

Sulfate-free , Paraben-free, No Phthalates . What does it all mean & why are they in my products? For starters lets get some definitions here.

What are sulfates?

Sulfates are in chemicals that create lather to help remove oils & dirt and can be found in products like shampoos. Because they are a harsh chemical they may cause irritation to the scalp, skin & eyes with long term use. In rare cases, some people have a sensitivity to sulfates which may react as asthma.

What are parabens?

Parabens are a group of compounds which are effective as preservatives to prevent the growth of potentially harmful bacteria in cosmetics. Many concerns with paraben use are related to estrogen levels. “FDA scientists continue to review published studies on the safety of parabens. At this time, we do not have information showing that parabens as they are used in cosmetics have an effect on human health. “
