And if a few bad sunburns don’t bother you, consider this: according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, having five or more sunburns can double your risk of developing melanoma. It’s one of the reasons why more people are diagnosed with skin cancer in the U.S.A. than all other cancers combined.

But what if you like the look of getting a tan? Do it using a proper SPF. Those UV rays can age your skin prematurely. It’s called photoaging and it happens when sun exposure dries the skin, thickening the epidermis and slowing down cell renewal. This means skin can be dehydrated and look older, more wrinkled, with dark spots and leather-like texture.

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, and the number beside it indicates how well the sunscreen protects the skin against sunburn. Overall, combining bug spray with sunscreen is a practical and efficient way to protect yourself from both the sun and insects.

How Can I Treat Acne & Breakouts?

Adult acne can have many causes which may include your daily skincare routine or lack of it, hormones, stress, sugar, dairy, & makeup. Even though adult acne can be very frustrating it is a common issue.

Solutions for your beauty concerns

These days there are so many beauty products to choose from, knowing which ones to use can become overwhelming. I often hear from my customers, statements like “I just want something to fix the wrinkles around my eyes, my dark circles, or my dry skin. The questions go on & on. Everyone wants that quick fix. Now, the fix isn’t always quick but I am here to help direct you to the solutions.

I’ll discuss common beauty concerns & pair them with product solutions. Several product solutions may be available, addressing more than one concern. With it being winter & I’m in New England, dry skin is 1 concern on top of the list. Cold winter weather & indoor heat do a number on our skin. Plus in the cold weather, I know I tend to drink less water. Our bodies are made up mostly of water, drinking more water helps our skin from drying out, but it’s not enough.

For starters, a basic skincare regimen should include a cleanser, treatments, moisturizers, and an eye cream/gel. More information can be found in my previous post “What is a Skincare Regimen?”

My face seems to be dryer in the winter even though I am still using my moisturizer.”
